I read One of Us is Lying quite some time ago, and while I not-so-patiently wait on the sequel to come out (One of Us is Next is expected in early 2020), I picked up Two Can Keep a Secret. I loved the well-crafted mystery of One of Us is Lying, so seeing Two Can Keep a Secret while at Barnes & Noble felt like a sign.

I’m always down to listen to what the book shelves suggest.

Two Can Keep a Secret follows twins Ellery and Ezra as they move from sunny California to Murderland USA, a.k.a. Echo Ridge, Vermont. As they’re heading to their grandmother’s house after their flight, they see a body in the middle of the road: clearly a hit and run. It’s just the beginning of the secrets that their small new town holds.

The twins find out that there have been some shady deaths in Echo Ridge, and Ellery’s new friend’s brother was a huge suspect for one of them. But when threats start showing up around town, everyone is on edge. Even more so when a young girl goes missing.

I stand by my love for Karen M McManus’ writing. I think she writes mystery like she was born for it and has a good team working with her. Plus, I love that even though her books aren’t related, their covers relate to each other, and it reminds you that she’s an exceptional author!

Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen M McManus

I think the best part about McManus’ books is how fiercely they grip you. As an already fast reader, I’m always impressed when a book makes me read even faster. McManus’ books do that to me. I feel like I need to read them, and that compulsion makes them insanely fast reads.

If you’re a big fan of mystery (especially when there’s murder involved) you need to check out Karen M McManis’ books. I do recommend starting with Two Can Keep a Secret because, if you space them out well, you can also read One of Us is Lying before the sequel comes out next year. Needless to say, I will be purchasing that when it’s released!

If you’re looking to grab a copy of Two Can Keep a Secret, you can check out Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, or your local library! Happy reading!
