This time of year can be extra hard on your skin. If you’re anything like me, dry air, harsh winds, and dropping temperatures dry your face out even more than normal… And there’s only so much moisturizer you can waste slathering on your skin before you seek out another solution. So, why not throw a little geekiness in that routine while you give your skin some extra TLC? Here are some of the coolest geeky skincare products out there!

Okay, guys. I’m gonna start out by saying something I don’t say often: I’m sorry. I was wrong. The last time I spoke of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, I wasn’t exactly enthusiastic and I certainly let my negative perspective effect that. CAOS still isn’t a perfect show, but I now have a greater appreciation for what I once dismissed. And honestly? I just really, really love Ambrose Spellman.

I knew that, regardless of what my final thoughts on CAOS were, Ambrose Spellman would end up in this segment eventually. Aside from being the most charming character to grace a television screen, he also has the most whimsical, stand-out wardrobe on the show.

I’m just gonna say it: I love winter. I love the holiday season, mulled wine and Christmas lights, sure, but I also love the cold. I love the snow and freezing rain. And, believe it or not, I even love the wind chill at freezing temperatures. (But, I also know that’s crazy talk and few people feel the same.) I love winter fashion for the ease and the ability to layer and experiment, but the more I thought about that, the more I wanted to put my Sartorial Geek spin on it. That’s when it hit me: geeky coats! They exist, we’ve all seen them, so why aren’t we talking about them more?

Let’s change that, shall we? Here are some of the coolest geeky coats I found to keep you warm this season!

I’m gonna be totally honest with you: I never really “got” the ugly Christmas sweater trend at first. There is only a certain level of campiness I can tolerate when it comes to my wardrobe and most of it is used up on geeky stuff. But, then geeky Christmas sweaters came along.

And they were actually cute— not legitimately ugly!A parody on the traditional ugly Christmas sweater, if you will. Surprising no one, the nerds of the world just made everything better.

So, if you’re still in the market for a sweater that will flaunt your fandom this holiday season, look no more! Here are a few of my favorites this year:

Shortly after we meet Lady Mary Crawley of Downton Abbey fame, her style icon status is quickly solidified with a menswear-inspired riding outfit. Around the same time, she also disposes of the body of a man that she slept with. It took this, and only this, introduction for me to totally fall head over heels for her. What can I say? I always have a soft spot for the cold ones.

Despite being aloof and standoffish, Lady Mary Crawley is nothing short of the equivalent of an It Girl of her time. She is the epitome of sophistication, grace, and beauty, and her wardrobe is nothing short of any of those things.

Consider this part two of infinity of my “I’m obsessed with ’90s fashion” posts. While the X-Files was not a show I grew up on, I certainly developed a greater appreciation for it later in my adult life*. (*Last week. My roommate sat me down and made me watch my first episode ever. And boy, am I glad he did.) That being said, it came as no surprise that I was immediately enamored by the fashion of the one and only Dana Scully.

Dana Scully is one of those characters with an easily recognizable, no-nonsense costumes. Even before I got into the show, I was well aware of the “Scully Suit.” I could pick out a Scully cosplayer in any convention crowd. Dana Scully was a fashion icon long before this post and will remain one for years to come.

I’m not contractually obligated to write a post every time Besamé Cosmetics does something awesome. I swear I’m not, even if that would be the dream. I just really, really love them and won’t stop until you do, too.

Besamé is no stranger to the Disney collaboration. From Agent Carter to Snow White, they truly do have something for every make-up loving geek. Plus, it’s nearly impossible to not appreciate that retro flair and the amount of heart and detail that goes into every piece. Their newest Peter Pan-inspired project, the Mermaid Lagoon Collection, is no exception.

I have a longstanding love affair with shoes. While women’s’ inconsistent sizing has failed me nearly all my life, I have never experienced that same pain and heartbreak with shoes, and thus, this lifelong obsession began. As a geek fashion veteran, I am aware that there are options out there for anyone who wants to add a bit of geek flair to their feet. In fact, the idea has become pretty mainstream in the past few years, with geeky collaborations from brands ranging from Vans to Rag and Bone to, yes, Christian Louboutin. But, even with those options, I still firmly believe that geeky custom shoes and their amazing artists are still the unsung heroes of nerdy fashion.

Yes: they’re going to cost a little more than, say, a pair of sneakers from ThinkGeek. Yes, you may have to give them a little extra TLC despite obsessively using weatherproof spray on them. So why in the world opt for a hand-painted piece rather than those easily mass-produced shoes?
