The Harry Potter franchise changed the landscape of reading forever. The series reawakened a love of reading in adults and children alike.
But some of us get stuck with knowing what to read next. The problem with a great series is that they cause a book hangover (It’s a real thing. There’s an Urban Dictionary definition and everything).
You’re sad that the story is over, and reluctant to try anything new because it won’t be as good.
Never fear! There are book nerds like me who can confidently recommend what you should read next.

This week’s episode made me want to drop everything and hop on a plane to the UK. Laura Cerrone took a dream trip to England and Scotland, focusing on the incredible array of geeky opportunities there.
Any day that you can wear a costume to work is a good day. I’m lucky enough to work somewhere that occasionally encourages it. This year we had a mini Harry Potter festival. So, it was suggested that the staff dress up for “Wizard Wednesday”.
I already had a basic Hogwarts student cosplay. But, I wanted something a little bit more interesting. I decided to do a Ravenclaw Quidditch outfit. I only had about seven weeks to get the whole thing together and wanted to spend as little money as possible. This meant that I had to push all of my costume making skills to their limits.
Remember that old Facebook trend asking everyone to define themselves with fictional characters? I’m bringing it back.

Mischief Management has been producing fan events since 2009. Their event lineup caters to a wide range of fandoms, from BroadwayCon to Con of Thrones. Taekia takes our questions and tells us all about what goes into making a convention happen and how Mischief Management was able to build a community of fans around small ideas.
