I knew it was based on a podcast that I hadn’t listened to, and I knew one of the writers Jordan Morris was the co-host of Jordan, Jesse, Go! (which I also hadn’t listened to, whoops), and I knew it was released by the same publisher as The Adventure Zone graphic novels. And, I knew the cover was freaking gorgeous. That was enough for me.
When Kylo Ren killed Han Solo in The Force Awakens, I was convinced we would never forgive him. After all, audiences have adored Han for decades. His words have been printed on coffee mugs worldwide and his face plastered on Star Wars merchandise in every Wal-Mart in America.
In 2019 I had the pleasure of attending my second ever LeakyCon. It was fun—I had reread the Potter books leading up, brought exclusively cute clothing, and bought way too much stuff. But one of the things I left with wasn’t physical. It was an awareness of a literary magazine called Wizards in Space.
This is a book that I think everyone should have access to—it’s all about our world, how we can learn from it, and what we can do to preserve it. Yes, it’s written for younger audiences, but I still learned a lot from it (and you would too!).
