Cindy Moon aka Silk doesn’t get all the love and recognition she deserves. That being said, I had to put together an ensemble inspired by her for Complex Female Character week! If you’re not familiar with Silk, she’s part of the Spider-Verse.

She was bitten by the same spider as Peter Parker, but unlike Peter she can produce natural webbing! And then she was placed in a bunker for her own “safety” and came out years later. Intriguing? Check out her comics to learn more about her!

Pro-tip: Start with Silk : The Life and Times of Cindy Moon, Vol. 0. I started with Vol. 1 and was soooo confused.

She’s also part of the New Agents of Atlas — a group that consists of Asian superheroes! You can check ’em out in their debut appearance in their The War of the Realms series. Their adventures will be continuing on August 7 when their own series debuts, too. Yay for representASIAN! But I digress . . .

When putting my Silk outfit together, I built it around this super extra pinup styled novelty skirt by Hell Bunny. I found it on sale at Unique Vintage, and thought it was perfect for all kinds of Spider-Verse outfits. And since there isn’t much Silk merch out there, I added this Silk tank to cart and checked out quicker than Quicksilver when I found it on Fifth Sun! A cropped cardigan, rose hair accessory, and pointed black flats helped complete my retro-inspired geek chic look.

We’re nearing the final stretch of the Geek Fashion Fix Challenge! Please keep up the amazing work! We can’t wait to see the rest of your Complex Female Character looks, and what y’all have in store for Get Lit[erary] week 😍
