This week I’m so excited to introduce you to my artist friend Jesse Corinella. He did the cover of The Sartorial Geek: Issue 003, most of the free coloring book pages offered at Jordandené, and most recently has been co-hosting Sartorial Geek art parties with me! We’re calling them Draft! Drink and Draws, and they’re exactly what they sound like. Artists of all skill sets (ranging from very skilled to very not skilled, a.k.a. me) can come, hang out, relax with a drink, and draw some fun things. We have a loose theme based on whatever’s happening in pop culture, and some of the art turns into weird products we actually list for sale (you’re welcome).

This is a very special episode that we’re very excited to finally be able to present to you. For the past few years, we’ve been hitting the con circuit with a panel called Building Your Own Themyscira (Thank you, Chavon Coleman, for being the brains behind this!). We have a rotating lineup of guests who talk about networking in their niche, building community, and actually supporting each other. We were finally able to record this for real at San Diego Comic Con, and we’re so excited to finally share this with you!

Hello, Sartorial Geeks!

We’re so excited to see so many of you at San Diego Comic Con this year. Unfortunately out of our editing team, only Jordan will be there this year (fingers crossed Liz can make it next year!), and we won’t have a booth home base. BUT there are three panels you can find me at, and I’ll be floating around as many meet ups as I can!

Before the episode, we have a special shoutout for our newest Patreon supporters: Liz, Lauren, Marcia, Trista, Megan, and Nicole! If you’d like to join them and get some of our very special rewards, head to patreon.com/sartorialgeek.

In our state of great emotional distress after the release of Marvel’s Infinity War, Team Sartorial Geek decided to hold a celebration of life party to honor our favorite heroes. We dressed in black, brought our tissues, and read eulogies written by members of our community.

In case you missed it, the Sartorial Geek and WORD bookstore have teamed up to bring you monthly happy hour meetups where you can let your geek flag fly. Once a month, you can join us IRL at WORD’s Brooklyn location for drinks, games, and the best way to connect with other proud geeks in our community. July’s event was to celebrate reading in all forms, be it comics, zines, or novels. And, of course: our very own book club.

We’re so excited to announce the first of our new monthly geeky happy hour events at WORD Bookstore in Brooklyn!

The Sartorial Geek is the nerdy community you’ve been searching for.

At the Sartorial Geek, we highlight cool stories by cool people in a variety of ways. From our online community to our seasonal magazine and weekly podcast, there is a little something for everyone.

WORD Bookstores is the bookstore for everyone. We’re dedicated to creating events that welcome every reader and nerd from our community, near and far, into their happy place.

Starting May 2018, you can now join the Sartorial Geek IRL for a monthly meetup at WORD bookstore in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Come hang out with us and your fellow sartorial geeks as we make new nerdy friends, share libations, and obsess over our favorite fandoms at our geeky happy hour!
