A Look at Fresh, Charm, and Trust Issues

Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead for the movie Fresh. Proceed with caution!

I am really bad at watching movies and tv shows when they premiere. I have gotten really good at avoiding media, press, or conversations that could potentially spoil something I might watch months down the road. The life of a Marvel fan, right?

Item #1: Solo Disney World Trip

As I try to organize the To Do List of geek activities that I have been gathering over the past few months, I decided to ease into it by starting with one that doesn’t really take me out of my comfort zone. Is this cheating, considering that the whole idea of this project was to challenge myself? Probably. But since I am in charge, I am allowing it. While creating this list, many people suggested solo a Disney World trip, so that’s where we’ll start!

Between grad school and a pandemic, I feel like Steve Rogers coming out of the ice: confused and out of touch with the world around me. As society begins taking baby steps towards pre-pandemic normalcy, it’s time I made an effort to rejoin the world. This is the time of year for resolutions and declarations of “New Year New Me!”. Well, I suck at resolutions and positive affirmations, but I am good with a challenge or task to complete. So, I have decided to create a new project for myself with your help!

Hold Onto Your Butts! A New Jurassic World Ride Opens At Universal

If you want a way to really immerse yourself into Jurassic World, look no further than Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. While the Jurassic Park section of the theme park has always been there, recent updates have bridged the original movies with the more recent franchise, creating an atmosphere that makes you feel as if you have actually stepped foot on to Isla Nublar. The newest addition to this world, VelociCoaster, officially opened to the public on June 10th after having been in a period of ‘soft opening’ since April. After years of waiting (literally), I finally got my chance to step into the raptor paddock and take the ride!

You have heard the saying, “all roads lead to Rome.” Well, I believe a more updated version of this would be “all Fandoms lead to England.” I mean, come on: Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, Jane Austen, Tolkien, Shakespeare? Should I keep going? I can keep going. Anyway, the point is, chances are that something you are interested in takes place (or was created) in England.
