Fandom Fashion for Fall

Hello there! Dressing for the fall weather while still maintaining a fashionable, nerdy look, can be incredibly difficult. Luckily for you, in this article, I will provide you with four tips to keep your fall fashion warm AND geeky.

Tip #1: Wear a subtly geeky cardigan!

Subtly geeky cardigans are PERFECT for fall. They give you the warmth you need for chilly weather while remaining perfectly fashionable.

They work wonderfully with a tank top or t-shirt. I love to pair them with this black tee. I would also recommend trying them with a staple fall color, such as red or orange! Both of these geeky cardigans are from Elhoffer Design.

Tip #2: Pair a fashion cardigan with a geeky shirt.

If you’re like me and have a massive selection of geeky shirts, you can keep wearing them throughout fall!

A warm cardigan is a perfect way to make your nerdy shirts just that little bit warmer. I found this cardigan at Giant Tiger, but you can find some great cardigans in almost any clothing store.

You can also try pairing my next tip with this one for another fall ensemble! This shirt is from jordandene.

Tip #3: Jazz up your fandom sweatshirts and t-shirts with a hat!

I personally love my black fedora, but any wide brim is perfect. They level up any t-shirt or sweatshirt and bring your look right into that desired fall aesthetic. Halloween or fall-themed nerdy shirts are also a great idea.

When the first Thor movie came out, my best friend told me I’d enjoy it because 1. It was fun, and 2. Thor was handsome and scruffy (aka my type). But as the movie progressed I couldn’t help but think, “Ooh, who’s the brother?!” I found Loki as a character very fascinating as he was troubled, sassy, misunderstood, and burdened with glorious purpose. What I Wore: NYCC Fashion With Jordandené

NYCC fashion is… tricky. October weather in New York is unpredictable. If it’s warm outside, it’s usually freezing inside, and it’s always insanely humid, even if it’s only 70 degrees. All of that usually leaves part of me wanting to wear leggings, a tank, and a cardigan every day, especially when I have to work. The other part of me, though– the part that literally went to fashion school– never allows that.

So, I planned my con outfits carefully. I started watching the weather closely as far in advance as I could. I searched through the depths of my closet to ensure I wouldn’t have to go on yet another shopping spree, and I did pretty well. (Turned out I already owned everything except for a cardigan I needed to buy for the season anyway.) And finally, when the weekend came, I had four, perfectly planned-out outfits for NYCC. Here’s what I wore!

‘Tis the season of crunchy leaves, cooler weather, and pumpkin picking. That’s right: October is finally here! You know what that means, don’t you?
