Hello there, awesome nerds! We had so much fun with the Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix Challenge in the summer that we decided to run a short and sweet version for the fall!

Co-hosted again by Nina and Alice, the Fall #SGFashionFix Challenge will take place from October 21 to October 27 (Monday – Sunday), the week before Halloween. Since this challenge is much shorter, there will be daily prompts.

Halloween time is already a celebration of the eerie and strange, of disguises and shifting shapes, and the changing of the seasons. So for a whole week, we challenge you to show us your spookiest and geekiest fall style on your Instagram account. Give us those casual cosplays/Disneybounds and subtle fandom looks! Have an amazing vintage take on a supervillain or a trendy horror movie-themed ensemble? We want to see it!

Like last time, we’ll be sharing our favorites on our Instagram, and our co-hosts will also be sharing in their Instagram stories. And of course, there will be prizes!

Keep reading for our guidelines for each day’s prompt & the official rules:

Monday: Monster Mash Monday

Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix: Spooky Challenge

The first day of the challenge had to be about monsters, arguably the A-Listers of spooky season. Get inspired by your favorite bloodsuckers, were-creatures, and things that go bump in the night. And you don’t have to look to just classic horror monsters. Mythical beasties and modern monsters are fair game, too. Want to pay homage to the vampires of Twilight? Go for it! Is the Babadook your fashion icon? Show us!

Tuesday: Twisted Tuesday

Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix: Spooky Challenge

Who doesn’t love to play the “what if” game of allegiance flipping and genre switching? Twisted Tuesday’s theme is all about subversions and mash-ups. We want to see characters with edgy makeovers like Goth Disney Princesses or Roller Derby Beauxbaton witches. We want your heroes gone bad – Dark Rey, anyone? – or villains gone good.

Show us what that would look like.

Wednesday: Wicked Wednesday

Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix: Spooky Challenge

Something wicked this way comes, and that’s your Wednesday outfits! Emulate the costume of your favorite villain, channel the cruel elegance of the Faerie Court, closet cosplay an evil queen or dark lord, get your witchy vibes on (any witch is ok – from Sabrina to Elphaba to Hermione Granger to the Charmed Ones). If it’s cool and a little intimidating, then that’s okay by us!

Thursday: Ghoulsday

Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix: Spooky Challenge

This day will be a spectacle of specters! Channel your fave ghost stories, films, characters, and even attractions like The Haunted Mansion, Ghostbusters, Crimson Peak, Casper, Beetlejuice, and The Shining to name a few.

Friday: Friday the 13th

Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix: Spooky Challenge

Technically it’s the Friday the 25th, but we’re into superstitions, black cats and voodoo dolls like Thackery Binx, Salem, and Tim Burton’s Voodoo Girl. Or anything else creepy and spooky that relates to Friday the 13th — Jason Vorhees, Quiji boards, ravens, etc. This is up for all kinds of interpretations, so flex your fashionable creative muscles!

Saturday: Spoopy Saturday

Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix: Spooky Challenge

According to the ‘net, “spoopy” means something that’s scary and funny at the same time, but it can be interpreted any way you like. For example, spoopy can also be something that’s scary and cute such as jack-o-lanterns, sheet ghosts, Silly Symphonies’ “Skeleton Dance,” the killer bunnies from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, or Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors.

Sunday: Scream Queens Sunday

Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix: Spooky Challenge

For the final day of the challenge, channel the style of a leading lady from your fave horror/thriller/spoopy franchise! Think of Sidney Prescott from Scream, Laurie Strode from Halloween, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Velma and Daphne from Scooby Doo, or the ladies of Scream Queens.

We’re so thankful for this season’s challenge sponsors: LoganArch, Unicorn Crafts, Summer of String, and Jordandené! At least five people will be walking away from this challenge with a prize pack from one or more of these geeky brands.
