Week 1 of Sartorial Geek’s first Geek Fashion Fix Challenge is in the bag! We’ve loved seeing everyone’s creative takes on the Nerd Prom theme. Y’all are KILLIN’ it! As co-hosts, Alice and I will be trading-off sharing a recap of the outfits we styled for ourselves on the blog so you can see what fandoms we decided to rep, and how we interpreted them in our own way. Without further ado, here are my looks for Nerd Prom . . .

Day 1: Sailor Moon

Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight.”

Cardigans are a staple for me no matter the weather! I love this Sailor Moon one I got at Hot Topic because it’s subtle to those that aren’t in the know, but in your face for fellow Magical Girls/Boys/Peeps. Sailor Jupiter’s always been my favorite Sailor Scout, so I put a little Sailor Jupiter charm on my metallic hot pink bag to further rep. ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 2: Spider-Man

With great power comes great responsibility.”

Since Spider-Man: Far From Home came out on the 2nd, I knew I needed to wear a Spidey outfit to celebrate! If you know me, you know rocking florals with geeky things is my jam. This adorable cross-stitch Spider-Man t-shirt from BoxLunch Gifts and my floral vintage-esque skirt made for the perfect retro inspired summer geek outfit.

Day 3: Mean Girls

Get in the car, loser. We’re going shopping!”

On Wednesdays we wear pink. So rocking this neon pink Mean Girls t-shirt from The Colorful Geek was a no-brainer for Day 3! I paired it with a black skater skirt with an all-over cat print because those Plastics are catty AF. Right?! And yes, I did take my outfit picture by my car in Target’s parking lot. Haha!

Day 4: Stranger Things

I am on a curiosity voyage and I need my paddles to travel.”

Stranger Things came out on the 4th, so rather than rocking red, white, and blue, I opted to show off my school pride with a Hawkins High outfit. I wore a pair of big round glasses like the frames my mom wore during the ’80s and ’90s, and a leather satchel to complete my school girl look.

Day 5: Cheryl Blossom from Riverdale

Some people say it’s retro. I’d say it’s eternal and iconic.”

Cheryl Blossom is so mean, but so fab! She’s one of those characters that I love to hate because she’s just too extra (for my taste, anyway). But when we came up with the Nerd Prom theme for week 1, I knew I had to put a Cheryl outfit together with the cropped cherry cardigan inspired by her from Hot Topic’s Riverdale collection. I made sure my outfit was extra AF for the full Cheryl effect!

Day 6: *NSYNC

Yes, yes, yes, here we go! *NSYNC has got the floooow!”

“*NSYNC? How does that count for this week?!” you might be asking. HEAR ME OUT! Totally dating myself here, but *NSYNC was one of my biggest fandoms when I was in middle/high school. Lance and Justin were still high school aged when the group got together, AND their music has been played at many proms! Also, peep those butterfly clips. They’re the same ones I rocked back in the early ’00s, which I store inside an *NSYNC tin. lololol!

Day 7: Nico Minoru from Runaways x Hufflepuff

Take my advice. When the world goes crazy you run… you run away.”

I love Nico from Runaways, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t put together a Hufflepuff outfit for Nerd Prom week. So I decided to do a mashup outfit at the very last minute! I took inspo from Nico’s aesthetic from both the Hulu show and comics (particularly from Rainbow Rowell’s run).

Week 2’s theme is Magical Menagerie, so rock outfits inspired by mythical beasts, animal pals, heroes and villains with animal related monikers. Can’t wait to see what you all come up with! And don’t forget, each outfit post you share on Instagram is entry to win a cool prize!
