Hello from the other side of the Sartorial Geek’s first fashion challenge #SGFashionFix!! Though the challenge is over, I’m wrapping up by recapping my looks from Week 5. I claimed this week on the blog because my oldest nerd title is bookworm, and my bookstagram (@threadedpages, if you’re interested) is themed on bookish fashion. And that’s what the final week was all about! The Get Lit(erary)! theme celebrates everything books.

Day 1: Lara Jean Covey from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy

Most people know Lara Jean from the Netflix adaption of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, where her adorable style is front and center. She’s like that in books, too, but seeing the fashion come to life was such a treat. I had to kick off the bookish fashion challenge week with my take on her cute and put-together style. I bought scrunchies just for this.

Day 2: Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince from Wonder Woman

Earlier this year, I read Leigh Bardugo’s Wonder Woman: Warbringer. I loved her teen Diana, and in the book, Diana ends up at a fancy party where she confronts her enemies. The gala directed me to more formal wear, and I already had this blue dress that reminded me of the gown Diana dons in the WW movie. Red and gold accessories nod to her Wonder Woman costume colors.

Day 3: EOs/ Marcella from Vengeful (Villians duology)

When Jordandené released the newest V.E. Schwab collection, it included designs from the Villains duology! Originally, I wanted to do something elegant and Marcella-like with this ExtraOrdinary shirt, but I changed my mind. You see, EO is the term for super-powered people in the Villains world, and powers develop specifically to each individual. So I styled a “me” outfit, something I’d wear on the regular, but added a kimono to give it a touch of drama worthy of Marcella.

Day 4: Daenerys Targaryen from A Game of Thrones (ASOIAF series)

Daenerys has been a style inspiration of mine for a while, so I felt compelled to have at least one fashion challenge outfit about her. Thanks to the final season of GoT this year, I was able to pick up 2 pieces of dragon queen fashion – Jordandené’s Dracarys crop top & BlackMilk’s Dragon Scales Gold leggings, which were temporarily brought back. Daenerys was in her power this last season, so I channeled that ferocity here.

Day 5: Lara Jean Covey from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

Seriously, every single outfit Lara Jean wore in the TATBILB movie was perfection. There’s no way I could let this week go without doing one more LJ-inspired outfit. Lara Jean sometimes borrows her sister’s clothes, and I 100% do that, too. My sister’s rainbow sweater is very similar to one Lara Jean wears in the movie.

Day 6: Ophelia from Hamlet

Having covered a range of recent fiction, I wanted to pay homage to a classic of the literary canon – my favorite Shakespeare play Hamlet. There’s nothing quite so tragic-romantic as Ophelia and her associated flower imagery. So I took my inspiration from that motif and made use of the gorgeous nature in my neighborhood. Besides, you know how much I love a flower crown.

BONUS – Day 7: Feyre from A Court of Thorns and Roses series

I forgot to post this on Sunday, so here is a bonus final outfit for the #SGFashionFix challenge. Without spoiling anything for this fantasy series, this outfit is inspired by Feyre’s time at the Faerie Spring Court. Feyre goes from scrappy huntress to bird in a gilded cage, dressed in fine gowns and kept in a land of eternal spring. This outfit also has some Persephone vibes, so we can go with that as well.

SG Fashion Fix Challenge Success!

Your literary styles this week from both huge book fandoms like Harry Potter and smaller series like The Parasol Protectorate were so wonderful. Throughout this challenge, I’ve been so inspired by everyone’s personal styles and getting to know your fandoms. You lit up my TL every day. It’s been an amazing month+!

Thank you from the entire #SGFashionFix team! We hoped people would be interested in doing a fashion challenge with us, and you all truly answered the call. We can’t thank you enough!

If you haven’t already seen it, check out the SG Fashion Fix Challenge winners, and yes, we will be doing a Fall Fashion challenge in October! Until then, stay nerdy!
