Alright Geeks, time to pamper! While out shopping a while back, I found Riley Rose, a cosmetic offshoot of Forever 21. I hadn’t heard anything about it before being drawn in by the crisp colors and beautiful storefront. So, I didn’t know it was related to F21 at all. But I came out, $60 poorer with a bag full of face masks. The mask I knew I had to share with you, fellow cosmetic warriors, is the Gudetama Mask.

Riley Rose specializes in brands that we have less access to in the US.

There was a lot of Korean and Eastern beauty products, so that’s mostly where I spent my money.

Gudetama is a character from Sanrio who is the egg-spression of depression. He’s an egg who has realized that life is just too much, and can barely go on. It’s quite sad. But, I can think of no better reason than feeling down to treat yourself to a fancy face mask.

To start, I used cleansing cloths to take off all of my makeup, and a super hot washcloth to wash my face.

After patting my face dry, I put on what is arguably the funniest face mask I’ve ever put on. This Gudetama mask is a sheet mask, and it has the image of Gudetama’s face on it. So if you’ve ever wanted to look like an egg, now is (kind of) your chance.

After leaving this low-key terror on my face for about 20 minutes, I peeled it off, tossed it, and massaged the remaining liquid into my face. About 5 minutes later, the liquid had soaked in. And my face felt great!

I was a little surprised when the next morning, my face was even softer than before, and I didn’t have any extra spots. I always worry that adding too much moisture to my face will break me out. But, a lot of Eastern beauty focuses specifically on hydration. Many K-Beauty routines are actually a 10+ step process! While I don’t plan on doing a 10-step beauty routine, I will be adding sheet masks into my routine, at least once a week. My skin felt phenomenal after using this Gudetama face mask. I’m sure other sheet masks will do similar things for me!

While I can’t find the Gudetama mask that I bought on Riley Rose’s site, you can buy it here. Or, check out some of the other cute and helpful beauty products that Riley Rose offers.
