Welcome to the first Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix Challenge of 2023!
We loved having a full month of celebrating geek fashion during our Fall challenge last October, so we’re doing it again! Alice and Nina are back as our fashionably geeky co-hosts. They’ve whipped up some new prompts this time around, and we’re so excited to see what looks your brilliant minds put together!
Week 1 (February 1-7): Groundhog Day
Taking a cue from the classic ‘90s film Groundhog Day, week one is having us all travel in time! Similarly to how Bill Murray’s character wakes up living the same day on repeat, you can style the same accessories every day, or rock casual cosplays based on tv/film/book series that involve time travel like Doctor Who, Outlander, Back to the Future, A Wrinkle in Time, Avengers, or Meet the Robinsons to name a few.
Week 2 (February 8-14): Valentine Core
We’re all heart eyes for Valentine Core aesthetics a.k.a. Lovecore! If you’re not familiar, just think of anything and everything associated with Valentine’s Day—hearts, shades of pink and red, silk and lace material, chocolate candy boxes, teddy bears, Cupid, love poems and songs, etc. You can even put a geeky spin on a look by doing a Valentine Core ensemble based on your fave characters!
Week 3 (February 15-21): Carnival
With Mardi Gras and Carnival Day both happening this week, it’s time to celebrate all week long! What would you wear if you were to head to Bourbon Street in New Orleans or Trinidad and Tabago? If that’s too flashy, you can also get inspo from the rides and attractions you’d see at a good old fashioned carnival! Stranger Things, Grease, Mary Poppins, Pinocchio, and American Horror Story are some shows and movies you can refer to.
Week 4 (February 22-28): Choose Your Character
For our fashion challenge’s finale, pick a tv show, movie, or book and emulate the style and vibes of the characters for the whole week! Wanna make it more challenging? Choose only one character to channel to style looks after.
