Spring has sprung and is still in bloom, so we’re back again for the Spring edition of our #SGFashionFix Challenge! Our style savvy co-hosts, Nina and Alice, have come up with new prompts for you to flex your creative fandom muscles with. The month of May is filled with so much geeky goodness to draw inspo from too!
The Summer Fashion Fix Challenge runs from May 23-May 29. We can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
Day 1: Family Matters
Family is a recurring theme with our challenges because we love how narrowly and broadly you can interpret it! From the blessed Madrigals of Encanto to the found family of Shadow and Bone’s Crows, give us outfits celebrating your favorite fictional families.
Day 2: Multiverse of Madness
Seems like everyone is traveling the multiverse these days! Get in on the fun with your best Spider-sona, or maybe you want to try on an alternate version of Doctor Strange. Alice is also a big fan of that other multiverse movie, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and as the movie does, we challenge you to ponder all the courses a character’s life could take and ask “what if”? Let’s see you at your most creative because the multiverse is vast!
Day 3: Ships Ahoy
It’s no secret that our fearless leader Jordan is obsessed with Our Flag Means Death, so we needed to make a pirate theme to dress accordingly. We love to twist things up though, so if pirates aren’t your thing we’d love to see looks inspired by your favorite fandom ships! From Stucky to Zutara, we want to see who your OTPs are. If you want to take it literally and do a look inspired by an actual ship, be our guest!
Day 4: Couchella
With concerts back in full swing, we wanted to dedicate a day for all things music. What ‘fits are you planning to rock to any shows you might be going to? You can also style a look with your favorite band’s t-shirt. Alice and Nina are also big fans of emulating k-pop idol looks, so we’d love to see ensembles inspired by your fave musicians too!
Day 5: You’re the Obi-Wan For Me
There are no words to describe how pumped we are for the Obi-Wan miniseries! We’re celebrating all things Star Wars, but especially the prequels to show love for Ewan and Hayden’s comeback to the beloved Galaxy, far, far away. We also know some of you are headed to Celebration, so if you want to show off your galactic fits and cosplays, please do!
Day 6: PROMenade
Esteemed fandom fashionistas, it is with great pleasure and excitement that we cordially invite you to Sartorial Geek’s PROMenade. Don your finest garments inspired by the Ton of Bridgerton, Downton Abbey, or a traditional prom look with a geeky twist. These co-hosts eagerly await your entries.
Day 7: Backyard BBQ
In the U.S., we’re headed into a long weekend usually marked by outdoor gatherings and warm weather. It’s also the unofficial start of summer. To celebrate the season, we’d love to see a preview of your geeky vacation plans, your themed picnics and BBQs, or your spring-summer nerdy outfits!
