I love Besamé Cosmetics. I have made that very clear in previous posts and I’m not ashamed to sound redundant. They check all of my boxes: No animal testing? Check. Nerdy collaborations? Check. Natural and responsible ingredients? Check. Every shade of red lipstick my little heart could ever desire? Check. Vintage-inspired to make me feel like a pinup queen when applying my makeup? Okay, not totally necessary for my makeup, but CHECK!
It should come as no surprise to you that Besamé was one of my first (and only, honestly) stops at New York Comic Con a few weeks ago. Did I need more makeup? Well, no, but they were having the most amazing NYCC sale and I knew I would kick myself if I didn’t take advantage of it. For a seriously discounted price, I finally was able to pick up their Agent Carter Passport Shadow Palette.
This wasn’t my first interaction with Besamé’s 1946 Agent Carter collection. In fact, it was their Field Agent Lip Kit that made me fall in love with the brand to begin with. But, eyeshadow is something I’m always hesitant to try despite how often I seem to test it out for this blog. My eyes are even more sensitive than my skin, I’m super susceptible to styes (gross), and I don’t have the patience for anything that isn’t super pigmented (which is usually more expensive.)
But luckily, shopping Besamé in-person helped with those concerns. Everything was out and available to swatch and test, and the moment I picked up the six-shadow palette disguised as a passport, I was sold. (*cough* I picked up Snow White palette, too. You’ll be seeing that here soon. *cough*)
The shadows are plush, soft-to-the-touch, and glide on smoothly, even without primer. They’re pigmented and buildable for dramatic effect, and they come in the most amazing colors I would have never considered adding to my collection otherwise.
My look
I wanted to try and create a look that used the whole palette since there are only six colors. This isn’t normally something I’d try to do, as most palettes usually have an extra color or two that doesn’t seem to go with the others, but the shadows in this collection are so perfectly cohesive and made my challenge that much easier.
And of course, I finished the look off with a lipstick from the Field Agent Lip Kit. 102 Sweet Dreams (or 1946 Red Velvet, as it’s usually known as) has seriously become my go-to lipstick ever since I purchased it. Despite my constant struggle with eyeshadow, I think it’s safe to say this is a look I’ll break out often. I feel like a total pinup queen.
