I love everything and anything horror. It’s my favorite genre of basically all media. Movies, TV shows, books, comics. You name it. But a few months ago, I discovered this obsession also included podcasts.

Podcasts are almost always on while I’m driving or traveling, which is pretty frequent. I love them so much, I even created one myself (InfinityJules, check it out on anywhere you listen to podcasts!). I currently have about four to five different podcasts in my rotation.

The horror/true crime podcast genre has become seemingly vast with hits like My Favorite Murder (which I just started listening to) and Lore (now a show on Amazon Prime).

My Favorite Murder

But my introduction into the genre came from my favorite podcast (still!), And That’s Why We Drink.

And That’s Why We Drink

ATWWD is a paranormal/true crime cast hosted by Em Schulz and Christine Schiefer. In each episode, the two drink milkshakes and wine while telling of one famous (believed to be true) paranormal story and one true crime story.

Live Show

For example, in one of the first episodes, Em tells us all about The Amytiville Haunting and the real story that went down there which inspired the films. In another, Christine tells listeners about the Killer Clown, John Wayne Gacy (also known as Pogo the Clown).

I absolutely adore this podcast. The girls are incredibly funny and relatable while having a love for the dark and creepy like I do. I wasn’t aware that SO many people were as into ghosts and true crime as I was until finding this podcast. Listening also makes me desperately want milkshakes and/or wine.

They won an award!

This podcast also spooks me sometimes. I listen to it a lot while I’m driving home at night, and when I come across those dark roads, I can’t help but feel scared. If I’m listening to the paranormal half, I constantly find myself looking into my mirrors to see if a haunting ghoul is in my back seat. And if I’m listening to the true crime half, every car I see is someone trying to kidnap or murder me.

Team Wine and Team Milkshake

But the humor and overall commentary they give on each other’s stories makes it so worthwhile and enjoyable to hear. I find myself laughing along with them and reacting to the story as if I was hearing it in person.

It’s a great podcast and if you are looking for something spooky to add to your list (it’s basically Halloween already), then I definitely recommend this podcast for you!

If you end up listening to it, let me know what you think! Let’s talk paranormal and true crime!
