I’m only halfway through Motor Crush Vol. 1, but I can safely say that I don’t think I’ve ever crushed on a comic book character harder than I’m crushing on Domino Swift. (No pun intended, believe it or not.)

Motor Crush reads like a Tokyo Drift-style adventure with more badass ladies and gorgeous colors. I suppose I was in luck the moment I picked it up because those are all of my favorite things. Action! Drama! Rivalries! Drugs… for motorcycles! Queer!! Characters!!!

Needless to say, I’m already obsessed.

When I first saw Domino featured on the book cover on her bike, wielding a Negan-style spiked bat, I already knew she had my heart. Having an impeccable yet effortless sense of style only makes me love her more.

Biker Babe

Domino Swift

We all know this aesthetic well, but Dom wears a more modern take on it. Competing in the world-renowned Grand Prix leaves most of those racing outfits to be a bit sportier, like something you’d see straight off of a NASCAR driver. Her Grand Prix racing outfit boasts the same red-on-white palette as her go-to, perfectly-fitted leather jacket, but things get a little edgier during her nighttime street races. Think crop tops, padding that looks like armor, and mesh details.

The inner cover and very first page of vol. 1 feature Dom in different racing outfits and I’m obsessed with every single one.

The most important thing to know is that I WANT TO WEAR IT ALL.

Boyish charm

Domino Swift: Motor Crush #12

There are some androgynous/menswear-inspired elements to Dom’s look, which I absolutely love. She favors muscle tanks and baseball caps and rocks her short hair like no other. The cover of Motor Crush #12, pictured above, even features her in a crisp, white, perfectly-tailored pantsuit. And she looks damn good.

Athleisure forever

Domino Swift

When she’s not killing it on the racetrack, Domino rocks my favorite trend that’s here to stay: athleisure and sporty chic. On a regular day, she lives in Calvin Klein-esque sports bras, tees and tanks, sneakers, bike shorts, and anything with athletic stripes. Whether she’s in her dad’s bike shop or gallivanting around Nova Honda, she looks great doing it.

You can pick up volumes 1 & 2 of Motor Crush from Image Comics today. Report back when you do so I can finally talk to someone about it.
