I’m not going to lie to you. Chanel Oberlin, of Scream Queens fame, really, really sucks as a person. It’s a complicated relationship to have with a character. She’s not technically the villain in her story. But as a viewer, it’s hard to swallow a protagonist who does and says such horrific things. No matter how many times writers tried to redeem her, I never rooted for her to come out on top.

But sometimes, the worst people are the best dressed. I mean, look at Cruella de Vil— I don’t condone her horrible attempts, but that black midi dress and fur coat combo is not only iconic but also a trend that’s re-emerged into the spotlight in the past few years. (But, obviously, with a faux fur option. Let’s keep it that way!)

Chanel’s wardrobe is an almost comical caricature of her character, with sunglasses as big as her ego and nearly everything dipped in pastel pink. Everything about it demands attention and asserts dominance— she is, after all, her sorority’s HBIC.

(When your closet envy is so strong it extends to the actual closet. How can I get this in my NYC apartment?!)

Chanel is blessed with a seemingly endless budget (not to mention powerful familial connections), so it’s no surprise her clothes reflect luxury, elegance and indulgence. She certainly doesn’t hold back, either— the word minimalism is not in her vocabularynor is the phrase “less is more.” To Chanel, bigger is better, more is more, and if you disagree with her, it’s safe to say you’ll get a Fendi sandal to the shin. (Don’t you dare scuff them, though— those white t-strap pumps she’s often found in cost upwards of $500.)

She collects designer labels like it’s an everyday hobby and can be found in everything from Christian Siriano to Balmain. While keeping up with all of that is certainly unattainable for most of us, we can all take a page out of her book this spring and break out our favorite pastel colors.

You can stream both seasons of Scream Queens on Hulu now.
