Another month has passed right before our very eyes, Sartorial Geeks. You know what that means, don’t you? Besides summer nearly coming to an end, it means a whole month has passed since our last geeky fashion roundup! Surely, a lot has happened in the nerdy fashion world since then and I’ve been itching to talk about it all, so let’s get right to it!
As you may already know, The Simpsons holds the title for the longest-running primetime scripted show in television history. Just a few weeks ago, ASOS launched a collection to celebrate the iconic animated series. The 30-piece collection offers women’s, men’s, plus, and unisex sizes. Pieces range from swimwear to denim to sweatshirts and all have a perfect 90’s streetwear flair. This is nostalgia at its finest, people.
This isn’t the first time Torrid has blessed us with plus size officially merchandised Harry Potter goodies and I can’t imagine it will be the last. But Torrid recently gave their long-running collection for Potterheads an update. The makeover boasts house suspender skirts and matching purses, Mauraders Map prints, and even underwear socks and underwear if you really want to match from head to toe.
Ghibli-inspired jackets by GBL Tokyo
Celebrating more milestones, Ghibli-inspired Japanese brand GBL released these two jackets in celebration of anniversaries of Ponyo and My Neighbor Totoro. Before you get all excited and start calculating currency exchange rates, I have some bad news for you: these jackets are sold out and it happened very quickly. But, I still think they warranted a shout-out in our geeky fashion roundup, because look at how amazing they are!
