I’m from a sleepy little town in Upstate New York. I’ve spent most of my life in Glens Falls, even though I currently live just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. But in late January I went upstate to deal with some family stuff, and I found myself without plans one night. I ran downtown because I really wanted to try a juice bar that a friend recommended. I realized then that having a healthy beverage was a great way to start a cute little personal Bar Crawl.
We know that I stan a lady boss, and we are all here for some good lipsticks. So of course we’ve got to talk about Safiya Nygaard’s collaboration with ColourPop!
Holo friends, its me, Cristine Emily again! I’m a huge fan of Simply Nailogical, AKA Cristine Rotenberg. I’ve been watching her videos for just over a year, and I kind of love her. She’s an awk sock, a cat mom, and honestly such a positive influence. While she used to do nail tutorials (I’m sure you’ve heard of Polish Mountain), her channel is now more of whatever she wants, which is rad.
I’ve been excited for this book since I first saw the cover. Heck, the day that I started reading it, my friend forwarded me an email featuring the cover exclusively because it looked like a book I would read. She was right, of course, and I finished it and loved it!
I did a lot of reading in 2019, y’all. I know I have the pleasure of writing about many of the books I’ve read here, and occasionally elsewhere as well. I’ve always used that as an excuse to buy more books (also, there’s no such thing as too many books). But as I came closer and closer to my second reading goal of 2019, I found that I have a lot of unread books in my possession!
I usually am not super into book covers with photographs of people on them, but Killing November has a bunch of Slytherin-looking kids with weapons, so how could I say no?
I have heard that Silvera’s books mess you up. Knowing that, I still got his debut More Happy Than Not and read it expecting to come out clean. Holy cow did I not.
I may have an addiction to bath and beauty products. When creators add fandom into the mix, my knees get weak and I succumb. When I saw a booth full of bath and shower products at Leaky Con in Boston earlier this year, I knew something from it was coming home with me.
Now that Halloween has past, the turkey has been eaten, and the Black Friday sales have happened, it’s Christmas! Well, Christmas prep time, at least. I was raised in a household where you start buying holiday gifts whenever you see things. This is a fantastic practice, because it spreads the spending out quite a bit, and gets rid of the rush and (some of the) anxiety. Since I know that not everyone subscribes to this method of buying, I’ve collected a list of products that i’m really excited about. Some are items I’ve used before, some just look rad. Either way, lets dive in!
No one asked for this, but I feel like it’s well worth sharing. I think that routine is so helpful; I know what I’m doing every day and that makes things a little bit easier for me. Big shout out to anxiety and depression, of course, because they make routine a bit of a necessity!
