Surely, you’ve heard of RockLove Jewelry by now, be it from their gorgeously crafted, officially-licensed merchandise, to their feature in The Sartorial Geek Issue 001. When RockLove owner/designer Allison Cimino mentioned that a Disney x RockLove Jewelry collection was in the works, I was over the moon. And, finally, after waiting on the edge of my seat since then, that collection is here and even better than what I could have hoped for. Because this collection isn’t all singing princesses and friendly mice…
The Disney x RockLove Jewelry is all about the villainesses. That’s right: this collection celebrates all of the bad B’s of Disney.
First of all… can we talk about the amazing photoshoot to go along with it? Look at how fierce the models are! Representing the Evil Queen, Ursula, and The Queen of Hearts/Cheshire Cat, I don’t think they could have found a better trio. Not to mention, all of their makeup looks are so perfect, it’s all giving me so many cosplay/Halloween ideas.
The 23-piece collection features sterling silver pieces inspired by The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, and Snow White. Each come in a variety of styles, from lockets to rings, and are as elegantly designed as you’d expect any RockLove piece to be. From tentacles to roses to poison apple details, this jewelry is perfect for any Disney enthusiast, whether they’re park-bound or just in need of a unique statement piece.
The tiny, perfectly-thought-out details are what make RockLove’s new collection so delightful. The Painting the Roses ring features a single white rose with red paint “dripping” off of it. The red enamel apple on the Fairest Apple ring is held by two perfectly-sculpted hands. But my absolute favorite, the Shell Locket, shown above, might be the coolest. It’s a replica of Ursula’s shell necklace, but this version contains a little “secret”. There’s a hinged door at the end that opens up, and inside? A chain of nine linked silver music notes that also happen to be Ariel’s accurate vocal progression!
Try and tell me that’s not the coolest thing you’ve ever seen. You won’t change my mind.
