Welcome to our first Fashion Fix Challenge of 2022! We’re so happy to have Nina and Alice back as co-hosts. The geeky fashionable duo have come up with a week’s worth of fun prompts for you to show off your sartorial prowess. If you don’t feel like dressing up but still want to participate, by all means please do! You can flaunt your creativity by interpreting the prompts any way you please.
This challenge runs from February 13-19. Can’t wait to see everyone’s awesome entries!
Day 1: Galentine’s Day
Galentine’s Day is our favorite holiday thanks to Parks & Recreation! Get inspired by your favorite poetic noble land mermaids (or actual mermaids) and beautiful rule breaking moths from books, film, tv, video games, music, etc.
Day 2: Family Affair
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all about romantic love. So we’re celebrating familial love, found families, and friendships today! Think of the magical family Madrigal from Encanto, The Eternals, The Umbrella Academy, Teen Titans, Animal Crossing, and more.
Day 3: Opposites Attract
Channel your favorite oddball couples and duos like WALL-E and Eve, Aziraphale and Crowley, Geralt of Rivia and Dandelion, or Marceline and Princess Bubblegum. You know we also love those enemies to lovers ships too, so feel free to include those under this prompt!
Day 4: Work It
Whether you work from home or are at the office, we want to see what frocks you rock from 9-5 or part-time! Work in sweats and pjs? We don’t judge here because… SAME. Alternately, you can show us your workspace & how you make it a little more YOU.
Day 5: Mixtape
In honor of #ThrowbackThursday, we’re paying homage to the art of the mixtape! Still got a stack of mixes you made from yesteryear? Show us! You can also share your favorite playlist, show off a ‘fit with your favorite band tee, or an entire ensemble inspired by an artist you love.
Day 6: It’s in the Bag
We love a good bag over here at Sartorial Geek. For this prompt, style a look around your favorite bag (purse, backpack, tote, etc), or do a cool flatlay showing what essential items you carry with you when you go out.
Day 7: Mild & Twee
According to the internet, twee is back! But when did it ever leave? And why is it called twee? Think Tumblr Girl aesthetics from 2010, or ModCloth and Zooey Deschanel’s sweet style in New Girl. Basically vintage vibes with cute a-line dresses, skater skirts, cardigans, and Peter Pan collars.
