Unpregnant is a book that I bought when it first came out, but I knew I wanted to read it this year, so I saved it. Of course I read it in the first month of the year because I was so excited about it, but I’m glad I did. Have you read any books already that you know will be one of your favorites of the year? This was one for me.

I know this is going to sound wild, but stick with me for a moment. Unpregnant is an abortion, road trip, comedy book. Crazy, right? But when potential valedictorian (and near perfect) Veronica finds out that she’s pregnant, she knows what she’s going to do. She can’t risk her future; there are too many things she wants to do! She finds out pretty quickly that she can’t get an abortion in her state without parental permission.

But when Veronica goes to her boyfriend to ask him to drive, he answers with a ring, and a “We can do this babe!” Obviously, that’s not what she’s looking for. Since she can’t let her surface-level friends find out that she’s pregnant, she goes to the house of her middle school best friend to ask for a ride…almost 1,000 miles away.

Unpregnant by Jenni Hendricks & Ted Caplan

Bailey says yes, but things aren’t simple; they just can’t be. There are some pretty huge speed bumps along the way, and you’ll have to read to see how things play out.

This book is just so good. I read it in a day, and I can’t get over how much I loved it! Unpregnant is easily a Top 5 Book for me, and it’s still early in the year. I think you should grab yourself a copy as soon as you can because it’s an incredible read.

Have you read any books this year that you’re already obsessed with?
