There are stories we read as children that stick to our bones and help us learn tough lessons that are easier to digest when told through a toy rabbit or a silly old bear. We bury them deep inside of our hearts and often they are forgotten, their origins a distant memory.

We know the lessons, but we tend to forget the friends that taught them to us. They are some of the most reliable things on earth; always true, always constant. A touchstone we can place in our palm to remind us what we’ve always known. 

What do you escape into when the world gets too difficult? It can be movies, television, music, sports, or anything that makes you stop thinking about what around you weighs you down. I personally lose myself in science fiction television, specifically Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Sherlock (otherwise known to the Tumblr community as SuperWhoLock).

Hello again, my lovely friends! Self care has been a bit of a hot button topic recently; articles are constantly coming out about the fanciest face masks, every self help book suggests water and self care, and Parks & Rec has a whole day dubbed Treat Yo’self. What exactly does self care mean, though? Is it as simple a formula as buy yourself a bunch of unnecessary items once a year, or a weekly sheet mask? Depending on your day and needs, it’s both a yes and a no.
