Hey awesome nerds!

We’re back with our first Fashion Fix challenge of 2021! Last year we were elated to hear that our challenges have been a source of happiness and much needed distraction from . . . well *gestures at everything*. So we’re excited to come back, with Alice and Nina as co-hosts again, for another week full of stylish geeky goodness! They’ve come up with prompts that’ll make you flex your creative muscles, and also chill ones because we’re still a little lazy from sheltering in place. Haha!

#SGFashionFix Challenge: Winter '21

The fun takes place February 8-14. Please don’t hesitate to join us if you’re new to the challenge. We love seeing all your entries and can’t wait to see what y’all come up with!

Day 1: Quarantine Couture

#SGFashionFix Challenge: Winter '21

2021 still finds us quarantining and sheltering in place. While we can’t resume business as usual, we can still take advantage of this time to dress up in our finest robes, sweats, masks, etc to show off your Quarantine Couture! Get creative—think Vogue editorial, Apocalypse chic meets K-pop fashion, or whatever you fancy.

Day 2: Bad Romance

#SGFashionFix Challenge: Winter '21

Sometimes, we just get caught up in those bad romances. Since it’s Valentine’s week, we had to have a prompt celebrating love, but with a twist. For this prompt, we’d love to see your fashion homages to spicy ships: enemies-to-lovers, forbidden romances, villainous power couples, or just something a little gothic & extra angsty.

Day 3: Throwback Mashup

#SGFashionFix Challenge: Winter '21

We loved the decades of classic sitcoms featured on WandaVision, and we thought it’d be fun to challenge you to mashups of your own! Let’s see your favorite characters or shows in throwback fashion trends or how about putting them in the dressings of a different genre? Think DC Bombshells or ’70s fashion (of our galaxy) Star Wars.

Day 4: Write On

#SGFashionFix Challenge: Winter '21

The pen is mightier than the sword, so let’s see your best penmanship. Whip out your best writing utensil and jot down your favorite phrase or a quote from a movie or tv show. You can also choose a line from a book, lyrics from a song, or poem.

Day 5: Accessorize Me

#SGFashionFix Challenge: Winter '21

Indiana Jones has his trusty brown fedora. Wakandans have their reliable kimoyo bead bracelets. Wonder Woman has her tiara (and countless other iconic accessories). For this challenge we want to see you take one accessory and style your entire look by it! Take a cue from a character or let your imagination run wild.

Day 6: Galentine’s Day

#SGFashionFix Challenge: Winter '21

Galentine’s Day is a day to celebrate ladies—or, if you will, your favorite beautiful tropical fishes and poetic noble land mermaids—so take this day to channel your fave female identifying characters. From the pages of your favorite books or comics, to the silver screen, the possibilities are endless with all the cool complex female characters out there.

Day 7: Collector’s Corner

#SGFashionFix Challenge: Winter '21

For our last day, we wanted an easy way for everyone to share what they love. Since we’re all geeks here, chances are you’re a collector of something. Whether it’s comic books, enamel pins, action figures, themed makeup palettes, or geeky socks, show us the goods! If nothing else, we bet you have a nice collection of masks by now!
