Hello to all of our Sartorial Geeks and especially our nerdy parents! This week we’re chatting with Stacie Sells about being a nerd and a parent and all of the things that come along with that.

Parents = Superheroes

Stacie has a wonderful analogy of parents being like superheroes. Every superhero has learning curves and goes through transformations as a part of their journey, and so do parents. We talk about her kid being like her sidekick at this stage and how he’s currently writing his own origin story.

A League of Extraordinary Mamas

At Sartorial Geek we thrive on community. We realize how important it is to everyone, and it’s especially valuable to new parents. Stacie has created a group called the League of Extraordinary Mamas to help moms and dads harness their new superpower. It takes a village, and Stacie is helping create a place to find your people.

One of the beauties of parenthood is that things happen at different stages, so LOEM encourages parents at all stages of their journey to share what they’ve learned and ask advice from others. There are so many things, from mom guilt to maintaining your own identity to cute cosplay ideas, that are so much easier to tackle as a community.

If you want to join Stacie’s League of Extraordinary Mamas, you can check out her website, Facebook group, and Instagram!

And if you want to be a bigger part of our community, we’ve revamped our Patreon to include so many new and exciting rewards! We have pledges from $1-$50 and four new goals that help us pay for things behind the scenes and bring fun new surprises to our in person events! If you join in the month of March, we have an exclusive gift just for you!

Have a great week and stay nerdy!
