I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: grown-ish is the most fashionable show currently on air. So much that it’s the first (and probably only) series, save for an obvious Black Panther, I’ll double-dip into for a style icon. This week and every week, my fictional style icon (and big ol’ crush) is grown-ish regular Luca Hall, played by real-life fashion influencer (and, of course, Yeezy model) Luka Sabbat.

Style Icon: Luca Hall

What I love so much about Luca and grown-ish is they allow the coolest character on the show to ignore the need to feel that presumably straight, cisgender men must be hyper-masculine at all times, especially in how they dress.

No, instead, we get Luca in all of these wonderfully androgynous getups. He wears cropped shirts, skirts, kimono-style cardigans, and lots of jewelry– and the best part about all of that is nobody bats an eye. Luca is free to express his creativity in whatever way he pleases, and as a fashion student, it’s mainly through his outfits.

In one episode, the main character, Zoey, even admits he’s “the only freshman fly enough to rock the same skirt as me and make me think about changing.”

And while Zoey Johnson rocks a covetable wardrobe of her own, Luca still beats her in a “who wore it best” poll, and even she can’t deny that he did.

Luca’s style is a fun mix of streetwear chic meets eccentric artist, with the most amazing messy ponytail of locs on top of it all. His wardrobe is such a refreshing take on what the quintessential “cool guy” in college would wear, and I’m not going to lie: if I met a guy that dressed like him, I’d probably fall in love instantly.

Catch all of the amazing outfits on grown-ish on Freeform or stream the whole first season on Hulu now.

Loving the looks on grown-ish as much as I am? Then make sure to check out our other style icons!
