We’re midway through the first month of 2021 and things have certainly been…interesting. It’s also the time that some of us may have given up on the resolutions we hopefully (or maybe even hesitantly) made for ourselves.

Well if you’ve trashed those resolutions or maybe are having a hard time sticking to them, look at these five Disney Pixar movies to help motivate and inspire your 2021!

Disney Pixar 2021 Resolutions

Inside Out

2020 was rough for many of us mentally. I know for most of last year I felt anxious and angry which I tried my best to keep hidden and tried to push it aside. But if Inside Out taught us anything, it’s that it’s important to feel and understand all of our emotions.

So take the time to reflect on how you felt in 2020. Do an emotional inventory of how you felt then versus now, and why you felt this way. It’s important to understand why you feel certain ways; don’t try to put on a joyful persona if you’re not feeling it.

Remember: there are no bad emotions.

WALL-E

I don’t know if it’s just me, but 2020 also had me feeling pretty upset with people.

Watching how others reacted to the pandemic and lockdown and how little some people cared for others really upset me and contributed to the above-mentioned anxiety and anger.

This is why I turned to WALL-E.

Even though I saw a lot of people acting in ways I didn’t like, I also saw people act in good ways. There were so many people who made masks for people who needed it, socially distanced porch visits with friends, and online hangouts playing Among Us.

All of these little things reminded me that even when things were dark there was still so much good in the world. So if you lost some faith in people last year try to focus on the good of humanity. Start making a list of the good things people do to remind you of that when the tough days hit.

Onward

One of the things I was most thankful for in 2020 was joining my first DnD campaign with some friends and taking the plunge into full nerd.

I look forward to our weekly sessions so much and know that I would have been so lost and lonely if I didn’t have this game or these people in 2020.

Onward reminds us about how important family is. While some of us were in lockdown with our families, some of us were alone.

In 2021 try to spend some time with your family, whether they’re blood-related or one that you’ve made yourself. If you’re able to safely meet in person, good on you! But don’t forget about virtual games nights! Perhaps you could even try a DnD campaign family-style?

A lot of us have found ourselves by ourselves during the pandemic, but that doesn’t mean you’re alone. Sometimes it just means remembering that our family and friends are always in our corner even if they can’t always physically be there.

Ratatouille

You may be looking at this suggestion and thinking, “No way! I’m done with making banana bread and whipped coffee! No cooking or baking resolutions for me.”

But Ratatouille has become so much more than just a story about cooking!

After becoming a fan-made TikTok musical that was performed online and raised money for the Actor’s Fund, Ratatouille proves that you can achieve whatever you set your mind to.

Ratatouille is about doing something great just for the fun of it. It’s about being passionate and loving what you do. With hard work and perseverance, nothing is out of reach. Make 2021 your year of success!

Soul

Again, 2020 was hard for a lot of us and, if Disney Pixar’s newest movie Soul taught us anything, it’s that you don’t need to do anything.

That’s right, you don’t need to improve on anything or set a goal this year. You don’t need a spark or some grand resolution to define your 2021. Simply living and doing something small counts.

Whether it’s eating pizza, petting a cat (or any animal, all animals deserve pets), or just listening to music, living and enjoying the little things can be your goal for 2021.

Being is always enough.
