I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to jump on the ColourPop bandwagon. I’m glad I’m at least on it now, but seriously:

WHY DID THIS TAKE ME SO LONG?

In case you couldn’t tell, I’m going to be trying out some ColourPop products today. Specifically from their My Little Pony-inspired collection that dropped last September, because Cosmetic Corner has been all about nostalgia lately.

Cosmetic Corner: ColourPop x My Little Pony

What struck me about this collection first is that everything is so cheap. I know this is one of the many reasons why ColourPop gained a cult following by beauty lovers everywhere. But, a mere $16 for a limited edition eyeshadow palette still seems crazy low. Even crazier? I got an entire bundle of the palette, a liquid lipstick, lip gloss, highlighter, and a single pressed shadow for less than $30. (Note: said bundle is no longer available on the site. However, you can still get almost every product for dirt cheap.)

I also couldn’t get over how adorable the packaging was. Never have I wanted to keep a bunch of useless cardboard boxes more.

Keep in mind that these colors only look like they’d strictly be for experimental use. I was pleasantly surprised by how gorgeous everything was once it was all swatched.

Bottom row, L to R: Minty, Flutterbye, Twilight, Firefly, Snuzzle, Princess Sparkle

I knew instantly that, even if I wasn’t using them all for today’s look, none of these colors would go to waste. I’m still amazed at how beautifully cohesive they were able to make this palette. It doesn’t feel like a single shade was just there to be a filler, as many eyeshadow palettes often have.

While the gloss certainly isn’t for me, I was surprised to find just how much I liked the pink. Yes, it’s bright. Yes, it looks like it belongs on Barbie. But, I have to switch out my favorite red lip sometimes, right? The highlighter and single shadow were an instant favorite with their pretty opalescent tones.

ColourPop made this one almost too easy for me. For my look, I used Flutterbye, Skydancer, Starshine, Princess Sparkle & Cherries Jubilee on my eyes, that gorgeous lavender highlight on my cheekbones and nose, and the Ultra Matte Lip in Pinwheel.

A better angle to capture that highlight!

This collection seriously made me feel like a magical pony princess. (And somehow without feeling like a crayon factory exploded on me.) 100/10, would absolutely recommend.

(BTW, this insanely glowy skin is courtesy of none other than that GlamGlow Power Rangers Mask I tested a few weeks ago.)
