I hadn’t heard of Bésame Cosmetics before, but after seeing their latest collaboration I am now a huge fan!
Delightfully vintage-inspired, Bésame Cosmetics’ newest Disney collection is an homage to one of Disney’s most beloved musicals, Mary Poppins. Historian Gabriela Hernandez designed this limited edition set of cosmetics to celebrate the wonderful women of 17 Cherry Tree Lane—Mary Poppins and Mrs. Banks. According to Bésame, Gabriela studied the artwork, sets, and costumes from the original 1964 Disney film to find the perfect colors to suit this charming collection.
Having never seen a Besame set before, I was stunned by the The Mary Poppins Set. It comes in a gorgeous box lined with gold satin and includes Poppins Red lipstick ,which has a rich, warm tone; Practically Perfect Powder, whose design was based on the design on Mary Poppins’ own compact in the film; and Mary’s Cream Rouge, which is a lip and cheek tint that matches Mary’s lipstick.
Each product is decorated with Mary’s signature floral design and, as a bonus, the set comes in a free Mary Poppins tote with artwork based on the film. The gold designs and latch on the box combined with the plush interior and vintage-style products really make the set feel luxurious. I have to admit, every time I opened it I felt like a movie star.
The Mrs. Banks set is more dainty and comes with a super pigmented lipstick in a peachy hue and Mrs. Banks Nail Polish (a perfect accompaniment to the lipstick with its light peach shimmer). This set was inspired by Mrs. Banks’ makeup in the film and features designs that match her blue and yellow dress. This set also includes a Collection of Mary Poppins postcard that recreate Bert’s Magical Chalk Drawings from the film. I adore the nail polish. The color is absolutely perfect for spring and is a great complement to any suffragette’s look.
