Whether you refer to her as Princess or General, the name Leia Organa instantly brings a lot of iconic costumes to mind. The Star Wars universe was certainly a game changer for futuristic sci-fi fashion. And she’d still be a game-changer years later, too– our favorite rebel princess would still influence Fashion Week runways decades later.

We’ll remember Leia for a lot of things: her bravery, her boldness, her strong will, and…

Iconic Hairstyles

Style Icon: Leia Organa

Of course, Princess Leia’s side buns will forever remain a staple to her character, but who could forget her Cloud City looped braids? Her braid crown on Hoth? Her long, crimped locks in the Eewok Village? And in The Last Jedi, after all those years of not having seen her brother, what’s the first thing he says to her? “You changed your hair.” Not only was Leia Organa my first fictional female role model, but she taught me the true meaning of hair envy.

Take a moment to appreciate my pun. Now take another moment because that last one wasn’t long enough. Okay, moving on.

Yes, Leia’s long-sleeved white gown will always be remembered, but Hoth Leia just might be my favorite. Though she ditches the dress for a sportier and more practical pair of pants, it still ties into her original look perfectly– white with perfectly coordinated, mid-calf boots. Leia was the OG queen of space fashion.

The most stylish General in the galaxy

Style Icon: Leia Organa

Resistance leader and rebel extraordinaire General Leia never lost her sense of style as she grew up. Her style evolved and her crisp white color palette was replaced with warm earth tones, but it was no less memorable. Who could ever forget when she appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair in that âmazing cape she sports in The Last Jedi? I certainly couldn’t.
