I love Kesha, like, so much. So when I saw Kesha Rose Beauty on Instagram, of course I followed them. Lucky for me, I followed early enough to grab a palette right on release day! It got to my apartment really quickly, and I got to play with it within a week of ordering it.
The FTW Palette has 12 insanely vibrant colors in it. It was made by HipDot (who released a Sponge Bob set awhile back), and they don’t test on animals. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect when I got my palette, but I definitely didn’t expect it to be as great as it is! The shades are beyond vibrant, buttery smooth, and the pay off is perfect.
Looks
Looking at the colors, this palette is intimidating as heck. The shade breakdown is as follows: 5 mattes, 5 shimmers, and 2 pure glitters. The colors aren’t ones that I would use most days, but I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone with makeup a bit. So I’ve got photos of my two favorite looks below.
The above look is a combination of Spaceship, Dinosaur, and Godzilla. I don’t tend to wear a lot of green makeup, but as a proud Slytherin, I usually have some sort of green on. This brings my house to my eyes as well! I used Dinosaur as a base, Godzilla in my outer corner, and a pop of Spaceship in the inner corner.
This look is one that I’ve been wearing a lot more than I initially anticipated. I think if you were to tell me I would be wearing these eyeshadows at the beginning of the year, I would have laughed you out of the building! But now, I love it. To create this look, I used Pagentry as an all-over base, Blow on my outer corner, and Woman blended from my inner corner out.
Since these colors are so dang vibrant, they also make for a great single pop of color on the inner corner of your eye. For the Yule Ball I attended in December, I did a neutral eye look, but I added the smallest pop of Godzilla in my inner corner along with Tik Tok (the silver glitter) for a little extra oomf!
While this may not be what we all classify as “nerdy,” I think that being a nerd for something means you love it a whole bunch (thanks, John Green, for putting it so eloquently). I’m a big ol’ nerd for Kesha, and I love this new avenue in which I can support her (even though I shouldn’t be buying more eyeshadow). Also, I think it’s incredible that the shade names are all names of her songs; it’s like she made a little playlist for all of us!
If you’re looking to grab a new palette, I can not recommend Kesha’s enough! It’s full of gorgeous, buttery colors, and it has so much potential. Plus, Kesha has said that she thinks makeup should be fun, and we should play!
