Artemis has pretty much always been my favorite of the Greek Goddesses. I was almost named after her. I thought it was the coolest thing ever once I learned that she was the Goddess of the Moon (something I was and am totally obsessed with).
My Love For The Moon Goddess
When I started reading Lore Olympus on Webtoons, I pretty much instantly fell in love with Artemis. I have an affinity for girls with black hair and bangs (AND gold eyes!). If I see one, I pretty much instantly gasp and claim, “It’s me!”
And the same situation happened with Artemis. I fell in love with her.
The Problem With Fandoms
But the more I loved her, the longer I kind of felt bad about my adoration for this character. It turns out that there are some pretty hateful fans in the Lore Olympus community that utterly hate Artemis. They hate her because shes doesn’t *magically* know what is wrong with Persephone.
I’m a bit convinced that Rachel Smythe, the creator of the Webtoon, felt this too. Maybe that is why she started season 2 off with Artemis. But no spoilers, and I digress.
I felt like I had to keep my love for Artemis a secret. My best friend wanted to cosplay her and Persephone with me. I actually felt the urge to say no. And even though she has nothing that needs redeeming, I felt as if I had to wait until she was. Yet she hasn’t done anything wrong.
Reminder: Love What You Love
So for this post, I decided to make a look that I think Artemis would totally rock. And to wear it and post it to just totally express the fact that I love Artemis.
I also felt encouraged to do so after I saw Jordan post a screenshot of Persephone and Artemis on her lock screen on Instagram! I told her I wanted to put something together and, well, here we are!
Artemis wears A LOT of black which is perfect since that is the dominant shade in my wardrobe. I thought about crafting her Goddess look, but that became a bit too complicated. So I decided to stick true to what I think she would wear. I based this look off of different pieces I’ve seen her wear throughout the Webtoon.
The Outfit
Feeling Like A Goddess
For this look, I went with an all-black ensemble. The black cargo pants that I recently received from Blackmilk (and am totally obsessed with) are definitely the focal point for this look. I tucked them into a pair of black docs and wore a tight black crop top.
I paired this with a sun and moon necklace and an amethyst crystal to represent the fact that Artemis’s skin is purple. My bracelet is the planets all aligned, and I wore a ring of the triple goddess to represent the different moon phases.
I dyed my bangs blue the night before I took these pictures, and although Artemis is purple, I really felt like it fit the look! I am so happy with how this turned out; I wish I had a few more moon-related items on me. But I truly felt like such a badass wearing this.
Who is your favorite character in Lore Olympus? (Other than Persephone & Hades because they’re perfect.) I think I might try to put a Hecate look together next!
Look below for poorly edited purple skin I did in Procreate. And though they are utterly ridiculous, I hope you all enjoy them! (I really wanted to incorporate my arrow tattoo somehow since she’s known for using a bow & arrows, so please excuse the awkward pose.)
