Who’s got two thumbs, always wears the same outfit, and is worth more than his weight in beskar? No, not Baby Yoda. I’m talking the Mando, the myth, the legend himself—Din Djarin or, as he’s better known, THE Mandalorian.
That’s right! It’s time to show some love to the star of The Mandalorian. We’ve spent two full seasons by his side, and there’s still so much we don’t know about this mysterious helmet-wearer.
Who are his parents? What is his go-to drink order at the cantina? What kind of music does he listen to in his spare time? That last question burns relentlessly in my mind.
I’ve taken the liberty to imagine the answers myself until we can get some solid confirmation. In that process, I’ve gathered a mix of songs that I think Din Djarin might listen to while roaming the galaxy on his adventures. You can find the link to the playlist below!
While The Mandalorian is often referred to as “the Baby Yoda show,” I think our favorite space dad deserves a pat on the back. Before pressing play on this galactic road trip mix, let’s pause to appreciate the man who goes above and beyond in everything he does.
Here are 5 underrated Din Djarin moments from The Mandalorian season 2. Beware of spoilers if you’re not caught up!
THE MANDO, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND: 5 UNDERRATED DIN DJARIN MOMENTS FROM THE MANDALORIAN SEASON 2
1. GOOD-BOY APPROVED
When Din and a local sheriff set out to kill the beast that’s been plaguing the town, they stumble upon a pack of scary looking space dogs. Although they look intimidating, the Mandalorian knows just how to handle this situation: with lots of scritches. It’s clear that our hero has some previous experience in the dog department—look at that form! I want to watch an entire spinoff series of Din Djarin petting different dogs across the galaxy.
2. THE NAP-DALORIAN
Now that he’s spent some time in his fatherly role, Din has learned to take advantage of nap opportunities whenever he can. Whether in his pilot chair or underneath The Child’s tiny hammock, it’s clear that this dad has learned one of the most important rules of childcare. When the baby falls asleep, you sleep—especially if your baby is a rambunctious little force user.
3. SOUP, THERE IT IS
Soups, lunchables, and stolen cookies were some of the fun new galactic entrees served this season. People are less cranky if they’ve had something to eat, and Din Djarin seems to have learned the power of bonding over a shared meal. I especially enjoyed this nod to the infamous Baby Yoda tea meme from The Mandalorian’s first season!
4. HE’S TRYING HIS BEST
From throwing an empty blaster at his opponents to asking “Does this look Jedi to you?” at the foot of a Jedi temple, we watched as Din learned the intricacies of his expanding universe alongside the show’s audience. The moments we see him fumble (physically and emotionally) make the Mandalorian a relatable character we can invest in, and it’s one of the many reasons I adore him.
5. MASTER OF THE CARPOOL
Before his ship was destroyed (RIP Razor Crest), we saw the Mandalorian bust out some serious piloting chops. The crew escaped giant space spiders, took down a slew of TIE fighters, and crashed landed on several planets throughout the galaxy… all thanks to Din Djarin’s flying skills! I’m not sure Frog Lady would give him a five star Uber rating, but I think he deserves a break given the circumstances.
THIS IS THE WAY. TIME TO PRESS PLAY
All that time behind the steering wheel does beg the question… what road trip tunes does the Mandalorian listen to while traveling across the galaxy? I don’t have a definite answer, but I do have a hunch. Check out this themed playlist for The Mandalorian, and let me know your favorite Din Djarin moment in the comments below!
