For better or worse, I pride myself on seeing basically every TV show that’s been made. But, that doesn’t mean a few haven’t slipped through the cracks. Here are my five favorite late to the game TV discoveries:
1) Sherlock.
I’ve been on the Sherlock train for a while. But, I still didn’t start watching it until season two was already out and on Netflix. I remember it constantly showing up on my recommended list, and I’m kicking myself for not starting it sooner. (Though, maybe it’s good that I saved myself so many years of waiting for the next episode to air!).
2) Black Mirror.
I can only handle Black Mirror in small doses because it really messes with my head. But, I think it’s some of the best TV I’ve ever seen.
3) Misfits.
You may have noticed a pattern: that I keep discovering British shows five years after I should have started watching them. Misfits combines so many of my favorite things (comedy, super powers, British accents), and I’m so glad I finally found it.
4) Bored to Death
I totally missed the boat on Bored to Death, but once I found it I couldn’t get enough. (Added bonus: a lot of it was filmed in my old neighborhood!)
5) Game of Thrones
I’ve actually been watching Game of Thrones since episode one. But I wasn’t into it at all until the end of season two. I didn’t care about any of the characters, and I couldn’t tell Robb Stark and Jon Snow apart. Needless to say, I’ve seen the error of my ways. And now I’m dying waiting for the finale!
