Before this week’s episode, we want to thank some lovely Patreon supporters: Amber, Christina, Jennifer, Kristen, and Jenna. We love you forever!

We’d also like to thank this week’s sponsor, LoganArch! Check out their Chicago-based shop for all of your geeky and nostalgic needs.

Last week we debuted our “Should I Watch/Read/Play/Listen to” series, and now we’re back with our second installment! Today we’re chatting with Mallory Shoemaker about . . . Should I play Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a peaceful game where you create a life and neighborhood on a deserted island. You can expand your home, make friends, grow flowers and fruit, and collect bugs and fish and fossils for your island’s museum. You can visit friend’s islands, put together super cute outfits, and play the Stalk Market.

We both love it (so much that we’ve hosted several Sartorial Geek Animal Crossing events and devoted much of our Summer 2020 Issue to this cute game), but it’s not for everyone. If you’re looking for a fast-paced challenge, this game is not for you. If you’re looking for a calm distraction where you can casually redecorate your home and pick up sea shells, Animal Crossing: New Horizons may be your new favorite thing.

If you want to hear more from Mallory, you can subscribe to her bookish podcast WhatchYA Readin? and follow her on Instagram.

Thank you so much for listening, and stay nerdy!

Special thanks to our editor + music composer Dan Ison and our executive producers for this episode LoganArch and Karen Hallion.
