Can you believe we’re all past the 1 year anniversary of quarantine? That also means it’s time for another round of #SGFashionFix! It’s spring, and things are looking up a little. To help you get some practice with dressing up for events (virtual and socially distanced in person), we’ve come up with a week of prompts to help stretch your geek styling muscles.
This year’s spring challenge is running May 2nd-9th. We hope you’ll participate!
Sunday: Secret Garden
Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking, we know. But hey, we’re all about it! Dress up for a garden tea party the way your favorite character would. Or get inspo from characters like Poison Ivy, Groot, or any plant type Pokemon. You can even show us all the plant bbs you’ve adopted during the pandemic!
Monday: Mutant
Get inspo from your favorite nature defying beings! From the X-Men, Scarlet Witch, Deadpool, Squirrel Girl, and even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles—the possibilities are endless! You can even team up with your friends for some epic (socially distanced) group pics.
Tuesday: May the 4th
Happy Star Wars Day! It’s time to don off your Jedi robes, space buns, or best Rebel threads to celebrate a galaxy far, far away.
Wednesday: Bad Batch
It’s Revenge of the 5th! We wanted to keep the Star Wars party going with the premiere of Bad Batch, but also wanted to give y’all the option to dress up as your favorite baddie from other franchises too. We love Loki and the Darkling from Shadow and Bone here at Sartorial Geek!
Thursday: Pixel Party
We know video games have been one way many of us have gotten our socializing time done during this weird time. Whether you spent some time outside playing Pokémon Go or having dance parties in the adorable world of Animal Crossing, we want to see what you’ve been wearing or dressing your avatars in! This is the gamers’ prompt, so get creative with it!
Friday: Travel Hopefully
This is both a nod to Doctor Who and to our own desire to be safely off on adventures again. We challenge you to show us what you would wear if you could travel anywhere in all of time and space . . . and fiction. Or if you like a little more definition, give us fits inspired by your favorite fictional (or real!) travelers!
Saturday: Fierce Moms
Since it is Mother’s Day weekend, we’d like to honor the mothers and mother-like figures of fiction—the good and the bad. From Mother Goose to Mother Gothel, pick a mom to dedicate your outfit to for a day. We’re excited to see what you come up with, and don’t forget to call your mom!
