While no show is perfect in its representation, Shadowhunters often felt like it was pretty close to perfection. And in some ways (to me, personally) it was.

I got to have amazing, badass, intelligent, sad, honourable, destructive, and wonderful women to look up to. I got to have an amazing gay man, and a wonderful bisexual man fall in love. I got to see minorities rise to power where they thrived, and got to tell their own stories. They got to be whoever they wanted to be.

All of the characters went through a lot, some more than others, but it was a beautiful and happy ending for a show that could have left us with a seriously unhappy ending.

It is hardest for me personally to say goodbye to Malec, who have done so much for me, specifically. I have cried with them, laughed with them, and fallen in love with them.

The acting in this show has been nothing short of outstanding and incredible. Each actor and actress has grown through the show. They have interacted with fans through social media, and they have always been there to listen to us and give us love back.

If you haven’t already watched this show, please do. No matter how much I ever write, it will never be enough. The finale was astonishing. I have never seen a show wrap up a series so well, until Shadowhunters. Please go watch it, do yourself the favor. Until then: Ave Atque Vale.
