San Diego Comic-Con took place during Week 3 of the Geek Fashion Fix Challenge, which was Mystery Box. This was essentially a free-for-all week since we knew a lot of you would probably be at SDCC! Everyone participating in the challenge thus far has rocked it, and even helped inspire me on how to style a couple looks for this particular week!
Day 1: Kermit the Frog – Rainbow Connection
On Thursday I didn’t get to attend the convention, but I did go to the Her Universe Fashion Show that evening! I put together this Kermit look that was 100% inspired by Michelle’s “Rainbow Connection” outfit from Magical Menagerie week. I recently got this rainbow print skirt and knew I wanted to wear during SDCC. After seeing Michelle’s brilliant look, it sparked major inspo!
Day 2: Mysterio from Spider-Man
I’m 100 percent Mysterio trash. I know. He’s horrible. Trust me, I KNOW. But goddamn Jake Gyllenhaal is stupid hot as Quentin Beck in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Can you blame me?! For my Mysterio outfit, I wanted something hella extra. Taking notes from his color palette, I found a gold skirt and an art nouveau-esque Mysterio t-shirt to pair together. Since I’d be walking around all day long, I opted for dark green Vans for comfort. But sneakers look cute with skirts and dresses anyway. Win-win!
Day 3: What We Do in the Shadows
For Saturday, I went for a look which I call “dead but delicious.” Julie’s Vlad outfit from Magical Menagerie gave me the idea to pair my black cat skirt with my What We Do in the Shadows shirt from Jordandene because of how Vlad can partially turn into a black cat. My plan was to go to the What We Do in the Shadows panel, but unfortunately I was too late because the line went all the way outside, and down the stairs! 🙁
Day 4: Scoops Ahoy from Stranger Things
The very last day of SDCC happened to fall on National Ice Cream Day! My sister, brother-in-law, and I all wore matching Stranger Things Scoops Ahoy t-shirts to celebrate the delicious occasion. In case you’re wondering where we got our shirts, they’re from Baskin Robbins!
We’re now on Week 4 of the Geek Fashion Fix Challenge — can you believe?! Since Sartorial Geek is fueled by girl power, this week we’re celebrating looks inspired by our fave complex female-identifying characters. Can’t wait to see everyone’s outfits!!
