We know that I stan a lady boss, and we are all here for some good lipsticks. So of course we’ve got to talk about Safiya Nygaard’s collaboration with ColourPop!

Safiya Nygaard is one of my favorite YouTubers, because she’s just so dang cool. Have you ever looked at someone and thought, “All I want is to hang out with you,” because that’s how I feel about Nygaard. I know YouTubers are a weird level of famous because we put them on a pedestal for being online in this format, but they’re also more relatable than movie stars. It’s an odd middle ground, but there are a lot of folks who I see at that level of fame. And since it’s such a strange place to be, I feel a lot of pride when they get to do big things. Like working with ColourPop!

Nygaard has been making Franken-creations for the past couple of years, combining her eye-shadows and melting lipsticks together. The latter has gotten her somewhere really neat, specifically ColourPop. As I’m sure many of you know, ColourPop has been changing the makeup game by bringing us less expensive, high quality cosmetic items. They’re full of unique colors, buttery formulas, and killer collaborations.

Safiya Nygaard X ColourPop

Nygaard’s collection sold out super quickly with its initial release. But they restocked, so I grabbed myself two shades: Mrs. Norris and Screamer. As someone who has been trying to be more conscious of their cosmetic spending, I chose these colors because they’re super wearable. Mrs. Norris is a nice taupe, and I have noting like it! Screamer is a gorgeous, deep red. I used to have a similar color, but I decluttered it at the end of last year (it was drying and old as heck!).

I think these are both wearable colors. I’ve been wearing Mrs. Norris a lot more because, with my current purple hair and newfound love of vibrant eyeshadow, ya girl needs some neutral. But when I’m going with a more neutral eye look, Screamer is an incredibly powerful lip!

Obviously, Mrs. Norris is named for Filch’s cat in the Harry Potter series. Screamer gets its name from its deep, horror-inspiring red. The collection also includes Bikini Bottom (for Spongebob), Brucie (a la Finding Nemo), Fred, and Berry Me In Lipsticks. They’re all based off of colors that were made in Nygaard’s Franken-lipstick series (which is definitely worth a watch).

At the time of writing this, the lipsticks are all in stock, but they’re going fast. I’m hoping that they continue to sell well. If you’re looking to check out the collection, you can head here!
