It’s week 1 of the Sartorial Geek Fashion Fix Summer Challenge and I have been shaking with anticipation. So, this week’s theme is Nerd Prom. Due to the Spider-Man: Far From Home premiere, I originally wanted to make a Spider-Man look (which I’m still going to do so pics to come later!). However, I decided that the Sailor Scouts were something I’ve been itching for lately. And who better than the girls who fight evil by moonlight and win love by daylight?
Sidenote: I recently started rewatching one of my favorite old anime again, Inuyasha. It gives me such classic Sailor Moon vibes that I’ve decided to add that next!
The Look
First, the top. This pink Sailor Moon long sleeve has a really cool lining on the sides of the sleeves that have all of the sailor scout symbols. Which, I love. It was the main selling point for me. It was purchased from BoxLunch under their exclusive Sailor Moon Crystal line.
I think this top could also easily be fashioned with different pieces. I wear it here with a white, pleated skirt. But I also feel I can rock it with some black high waisted jeans, for instance.
As I said before, the skirt is just a white pleated skirt. I own a bunch of these in a range of colors. Red, black, pink, and white. They’re some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe and so easy to throw on with anything. They completely give me the “anime girl” aesthetic I’m always striving for, without trying too hard. I got them from Amazon here. I personally like the skirts with a bit of stitching before the flair out because it complements the figure a bit more!
The Details
This last bit about the look is all for the details. You can rock this with some cool Sailor Moon jewelry. But I decided to shift that around a bit. I wore crew length socks. The socks are a cute pixalized version of Howl and Sophie from Studio Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle.
The shoes are a pair of my favorite Filas. The colors are loud, and the sole is chunky as heck (which I find in a lot of my anime fan art lately). While the colors may not compliment the whole look too much, I find that even more enjoyable. The plush of color at the bottom is like the splash of color the Sailor Scouts give Sailor Moon whenever she needs her friends by her side.
These pictures were all taken at the Fernbank Museum. This room was called the Star Gallery, and it was my favorite room. It changed showing how the sky looks throughout a day, and when it became night, the stars shone so bright. Very Sailor Moon if you ask me.
Who is your favorite Sailor Guardian?
