In case you missed it, the Sartorial Geek and WORD bookstore have teamed up to bring you monthly happy hour meetups where you can let your geek flag fly. Once a month, you can join us IRL at WORD’s Brooklyn location for drinks, games, and the best way to connect with other proud geeks in our community. In celebration of Harry James Potter, who will turn 38 on July 31st, we all came together for an event any Potterhead can get behind: a Hogwarts house party!

What’s a Hogwarts house party like, you ask?

Just imagine any old house party you’ve been to… and add in some wizarding world magic and fun. This could include…

A photobooth!

Hogwarts House Party

Our Platform 9 3/4 photobooth was complete with props and a brick backdrop. Ever dreamed of Instagramming a selfie with a giant spider, The Monster Book of Monsters, or Luna Lovegood’s lion hat? Welcome to The Sartorial Geek, where we make all of your nerdy fantasies come true.

A themed cocktail!

Hogwarts House Party

If underage students are allowed butterbeer, then what do adult wizards drink? That, of course, is when our amazing friend Ashley (center) of The Kindred Spirit Podcast steps in. She once again provided us with a delicious themed cocktail dubbed the ‘Felix Felicis’– tequila, St. Germain, and pink lemonade. Spoiler alert: it goes down so easily, one might believe it’s actually magic.

Quidditch Pong!

Hogwarts House Party

No house party is complete without beer pong, so naturally, no Hogwarts house party is complete without Quidditch Pong. Pictured above is a very intense Slytherin vs. Ravenclaw match. Can you guess who won?

Games to test all of our Potter knowledge!

Hogwarts House Party

Trivia! Guess Who, but with HP characters! A room full of nerds ready to challenge all of your answers! What better way is there to spend a Friday night?

If you missed out on July’s event, have no fear: our events happen the fourth Friday of every month. Keep tabs on WORD’s Brooklyn events calendar for the next one!
