Halloween is coming up. That means it’s the perfect time to dress up all month long. In case you don’t want to wear a full-blown costume every day in October (though why wouldn’t you?) there’s always Disneybounding. I love coming up with a good Disneybound and piecing together the perfect outfit pieces and accessories. However, you know what I love even more? Coming up with the perfect Disneybound makeup.
The nice thing about Disneybounding compared to cosplay is you don’t have to be screen accurate. Instead of copying a character’s makeup, you get to express the character through your makeup. There’s nothing more fun than doing a shimmery purple and black smokey eye and pairing it with a dark red lip to portray the Evil Queen from Snow White.
The colors of Disney characters are often pretty simple, but there’s lots of ways to add attitude to your makeup. Matte or shimmer, pastel or jewel tone, even the choice of eyeliner or lipstick versus lipgloss.
Some makeup companies like ColourPop and Besame make it easy by having makeup collections for certain characters including Disney princesses and Agent Carter.
However, you don’t have to buy a specific palette to do this. Not sure where to start? Here’s some ideas:
- Mix a shimmery purple and aqua eye with a pink gloss and a shimmery highlight for Ariel.
- A blue and pink eye with a sweet pink lip could make a great Aurora
- A green, black, and purple smokey eye and a bold black lip is a great look for a Maleficent bound
If you don’t necessarily want to go with Disney characters but still want a geeky bound makeup you could always go with Hogwarts house colours.
These are just some simple things you can do for geekbounding makeup, but there’s so much more you can do. Be creative and have fun with it!
