This week, I was lucky enough to visit the ReedPOP offices! ReedPOP is home of NYCC, ECCC, C2E2, BookCon, Keystone, Star Wars Celebration, and pop culture conventions all over the world.) I chatted with Katie and Taylor, two of the wonderful women behind content coordination.

Coordinating the content for a convention is a huge job.

Not only does it involve managing all the panels during the event, but many of ReedPOP’s shows have events beyond the actual days of the convention. Content like this is perfect for people who either can’t make the con or want more comic con beyond just one weekend a year! New York Comic Con launched NYCC Now, which features events year round. The best way to stay updated on events like this is to download the NYCC app.

Panels are kind of like the hidden gems of comic con.

Not everyone can afford autographs or photo ops with their favorite celebrities. But, most of the talent attending a convention will also be speaking on at least one panel.

On top of celebrity panels, conventions also have fan panels and meetups. These are a great place to connect with really cool people who love the same things as you. They’re also a really good resource if you want to go to a convention solo and make friends when you get there!

Katie and Taylor’s best piece of advice for people who want to get the most out of content at conventions is to get the app!

Each ReedPop event has its own app with the most up-to-date information about everything that’s going on.

Will we see you at an upcoming ReedPOP show?
